A boiler grant is a non-repayable free or partial subsidised boiler replacement.
This is part of the Government (ECO) Scheme set up to help with home
improvements for qualifying households. It provides households with access to improving home efficiency in order to reduce the cost of energy bills, as well as carbon footprints when heating their homes.
If you receive a qualifying benefit and your boiler is a minimum of 6 years old, you may be eligible. Once you determine if you qualify, you will be asked to complete a short survey over the phone, and we will install your new boiler.
The boiler grant is decided by how efficient your home is and is determined by an energy assessment. In some cases, a small fee may be required. The funding is offered for oil boilers, gas boilers, LPG boilers as well as electric storage heaters.
To qualify for a free boiler, you must be in receipt of
You must be the homeowner OR have permission from the landlord for the property to be eligible for this grant, and the premises must be connected to a mains gas supply.
Your boiler must also be over six years old to qualify for a new replacement as if it is less than this, the scheme will presume it is more efficient to repair the current model.
Because the UK has been set large targets to reduce the carbon footprint of its housing stock. ECO, or, the Energy Company Obligation plays a huge part in hitting this target. Built in to everybody’s bills is a small percentage of money which is paid towards ECO, the Green Tax. This money is controlled by the Big Six energy suppliers and they are now obliged by the UK Government to fund the installation of free boilers and home insulation into eligible households and those who are most vulnerable.
